Devon Abts, PhD

Devon Abts is a theologian, literary scholar, educator, and nonprofit leader. She holds a PhD from King’s College London, and an MA from Yale Divinity School. Devon currently serves as the director of research and operations for the Clemente Course in the Humanities, a higher education nonprofit that provides transformative education to adults facing economic hardship and adverse circumstances. She also holds a visiting fellowship at King’s College London. She has published numerous essays and book chapters in the field of theology and the arts, and is currently preparing her first monograph, Gerard Manley Hopkins and the Stress of Grace, for publication (anticipated 2027).
