RESIDENCIES
The Henry Luce III Center for the Arts and Religion welcomes everyone who is interested in the intersection of art and faith. We invite established and emerging artists to apply to our Artist-in-Residence program. We also have opportunities for pastors or theologians who wish to stay with us for few weeks of sabbatical, reflecting on and engaging with the arts in conversation with our faculty and staff.
Questions about any of the programs can be directed to artsandreligion@wesleyseminary.edu

Artist-in-Residence Program
The Henry Luce III Center for the Arts and Religion (LCAR) Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program accepts applications from visual artists seeking to create within the community of Wesley Theological Seminary.
Each semester we host 2 artists in succession, each for 6-weeks.
Opportunities
$2,000 honorarium: to be used as the artist sees fit (e.g. transport, supplies, meals, etc)
Studio space: While the studio is open for anyone to use, we encourage AIRs to set up shop in the space and make it their own so our community can see creative practice at work.
Housing: One-bedroom apartment on campus; parking space and WiFi included.
Learning: Ability to audit up to 2 classes at Wesley, with instructor’s permission.
Publicity: Online profile for Image Journal
Library: Study space and borrowing at Wesley’s library.
Responsibilities
Workshops: Teach (3) 2-hour workshops for Wesley students during residence
Talks: Headline (1) public lecture/panel
event on campus.
Community: We strongly encourage each AIR to consider donating a work of art to our permanent collection which provides an important contribution to our mission.
Application
The annual application deadline is May 15 and opens every year on April 1st.
To apply, send a CV, a link to your most recent works, and a cover letter to: artsandreligion@wesleyseminary.edu

your artistic practice
We schedule visiting artists up to two years in advance.
Diversity in the Arts
